This quote was on the first page of Mary Kay’s LOOK magazine this winter.  I love it.  It’s not often you see a cosmetic company talking about real beauty.

It’s tall and petite.  Pear-shaped and hourglass.  It’s moms, grandmas, sisters and girlfriends.  Beauty knows no bounds.  It comes in all shapes, sized, colors and ages.  And it starts from within — from head-turning confidence to just-because kindness — true beauty deserves to be shared and celebrated…

006693My hands-down favorite Mary Kay product is the Miracle Set.  If I was posed the “island question” this would be the one skincare piece I’d choose to take with me.  Makeup is great for enhancing beauty, but the condition of your skin is the most important.  You only have one face.

THE MIRACLE SET:  (Cleanser, Day and Night Solution, Moisturizer) Why do I love this?  It does it all, with great results!

-cleanses, exfoliates, and refreshes;

-protects against UVA/UVB rays;

-helps relax expression lines;

-delivers vitamins, antiozidants and collagen-enhancing peptides to firm skin;

-hydrates for up to 10 hours.

 The list almost leaves you tired, except it’s doing all the work, not you.

TimeWise 3-in-1 Cleanser:  Why use a cleaser, then toner, then mask, only to have great skin in 10 minutes, when you could have in 2 minutes?  This cleanser is mild enough to use twice a day and leaves my skin the perfect balance of clean, yet not too tight.

Day Solution:  I am all about the spf to protect me from UVA and UVB rays and this one is a spf count of 25!  Add in a little calming peptides to relax my almost 30 year old expression lines, and I’m in.  I love that this serum is so light.  Sometimes spf product can feel heavy, but this is just silky and light.

Night Solution:  Wins the most-improved award…as in it does the work of most improving the condition of my face and fighting the fine lines and wrinkles.  This pretty product with it’s colorful beads of vitamins, antioxidents, and collagen-enhancing peptides, makes me wish I could eat it to get my daily recommended dose as well!

TimeWise Moisturizer:  Love this.  I use it morning and night.  A light moisturizer that leaves me feeling like Goldylocks when she tastes the baby bears porridge –  “Just Right.”  It hydrates me all day and I don’t feel oily or dry.

Customers ask if they can use separately, and of course you can.  But I fully recommend using them all together!  The minimum would the cleanser and moisturizer, but if you want the full anti-aging benefits, use them all.  It’s like asking if the cake will taste as good or look the same without an ingredient.  These products were created to work together to achieve the results.

Oh, yeah, did I mention the results dermatolists saw when tested in a 12-week clinical study?

83% had a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles

Up to 25% improvement in skin elasticity

100% had softer, more supple skin

46% improvement in more even skin tone

It was another one of those days when I love my job.  Love the schedule, love the flexibility, love the people I work with, love the friends and relationships I have through work.

9:00AM   Meet with a current customer and fellow mom at a coffee shop.  Talk about life as a mother.  Help her choose some fun new eye colors and address skincare questions.

9:45AM   Drive to next appointment, sipping my short-decaf-nonfat-extrahot-mocha (yes, I have a high maintenance drink) listening to Coldplay’s latest.

10:00AM   Chat with next customer and friend about life and transitions.  Help her choose a new foundation. Make plans to get together soon.

10:45AM   Done with work for the day!

11:00AM  Arrive home to play with my daughter.  Grateful to have my MK job so that I can be present for my most important job – being a mom.

Last weekend I attended a local Mary Kay training session and one of the highlights was the forecast of this next season’s colors!  Ready?  It is really beautiful!  In fashion we are going to see a focus on the eclectic, artistic, and global beauty, portrayed in ruffles, pleats, draping fabrics, tunics, paisleys, and global prints.  The makeup colors of the season mimic that of an ocean landscape:  Eye colors in blues and greens of the water, paired with the neutral colors in the sand.  For the cheeks, soft shades of pink and berry will be prominent, and for lips soft colors in pink and coral.

The new Mary Kay LOOK magazine will be arriving middle of March and will be cover to cover in this current trend, so you can be sure to choose the right updated colors for this new season.  If you haven’t received your copy, you can contact me at lauramjackson@marykay.com and I will send one your way!

Do you remember reading the section in Real Simple magazine where they show you alternative uses for every day items?  Well I have one for you!  I was about to recycle my used Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation jar the other day, when I realized what a nice jar it was.  We were also in the process of reorganizing our office space and voila!  A cute container to store paperclips in!  I can’t wait to use my next jar up to have another one for rubberbands, or tacks, or pins,etc. The options are endless.  If you come up with a good idea, please do comment and let us know!
